Hawija Technical Institute organizes a seminar on educational institutions and their role in society immunity intellectually

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and with the follow-up of Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, Dean of the Institute, the Legal Unit, in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Intellectual Terrorism / Kirkuk Office, organized a panel discussion on (educational institutions and their role in society immunity intellectually).

The lecture was delivered by:

  • Mr. Ghassan Ibraheem Awwad (Director of Combating Intellectual Terrorism) Kirkuk Branch.
  • Dr. Raad Hamza Awwad
  • Mr. Waddah Ihsan Ahmed

It was attended by a number of employees and students of the Institute.

The seminar dealt with:

  • The intellectual impact of educational institutions on society.
  • Intellectual guidance for educational institutions through their adoption of the national discourse in the educational process.
  • The leading role of educational institutions in establishing national foundations with scientific and academic foundations.

The seminar indicated that:

  1. The active role that educational institutions can play in society immunity intellectually.
  2. Educational institutions have great opportunities in spreading the culture of tolerance and strengthening the patriotic spirit and loyalty to the homeland, with the scientific and material qualifications they possess that enable them to spread their educational and humanitarian message.
  3. The mission of educational institutions is not limited to the number of students or the limits of its walls, but rather goes beyond those limits towards society and its various categories and various activities.
  4. Intellectual immunization is the best way to protect society from various intellectual pests that may infect it and lead to harmful trends and high treatment costs.
  5. The intellectual discourse through various means has an active role in making a public opinion, which necessitates that educational institutions have an active role in making and building this discourse on sound scientific foundations and constants.

The symposium aims:

  1. The educational institutions have an active role in making the national discourse, spreading the culture of tolerance, and strengthening the national spirit, with the material and scientific capabilities they possess that enable them to achieve their goals.
  2. There be an interaction between educational institutions and the various segments of society and not be confined within the boundaries of their walls for the purpose of building mutual trust and creating a national discourse that works to fortify the society intellectually.
  3. Spreading national culture and building highly cultured generations immunized with science and knowledge to confront various forms of hostile intellectual trends in a way that enhances the unity of the country and spreads a culture of tolerance and encourages the protection and care of public money.

The seminar came out with the following recommendations:

  1. Universities should have a leading role in guiding and leading society towards success, learning, and development.
  2. Develop educational curricula that instill the patriotic spirit in the souls and promote a culture of tolerance and loyalty to the homeland.
  3. Strengthening the capabilities of the specialized educational staff and working to develop them in a manner that raises their scientific capabilities in directing and consolidating the national discourse.
  4. Finding a kind of effective and continuous participation between educational institutions and the various groups of society outside the walls of these institutions in a way that enhances their scientific and academic role and works to address actual societal problems through the scientific capabilities that these institutions possess.
  5. Work to establish specialized research centers that work on building and leading the national discourse and confronting various forms of societal challenges.
  6. Directing academic work and research efforts towards addressing various forms of societal challenges and negative phenomena that may confront society and working to develop successful solutions to them.
