Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Khalil Ahmed, Dean of the Institute.

The Women Empowerment Unit, in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Intellectual Terrorism, the Kirkuk office, organized a dialogue seminar on (Academic elites and their role in consolidating a culture of community peace in Kirkuk Governorate Technical Institute / Hawija as a model). The lecture was delivered by:

• Mr. Waddah Ihsan Ahmed
• Ms. Wassan Abdel Rahman Ali (member of the Women Empowerment Unit Liaison).

It was attended by a number of the institute’s employees and external participants.

The symposium dealt with the role of academic elites in consolidating the concept of community peace in Kirkuk governorate.

The symposium showed what are the most prominent methods that enhance the concept of community peace.

The symposium aimed to clarify the role of the educated and university elites in spreading the culture of coexistence and promoting societal peace in Kirkuk Governorate.

The symposium came out with several recommendations, including:

1. Emphasis on the role of university teachers in promoting community peace.
2. The role of school curricula in spreading the culture of peaceful coexistence in Kirkuk governorate.
