In the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and in the presence of the presidents of Iraqi universities, and commissioned by the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Northern Technical University participated, represented by Dr. Nabil Mikhlif Abdel-Razzaq/ Director of the Quality Assurance Department and member of the Quality Team Dr. Abdullah Qutaiba Shanshal, head of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division and member of the curricula team for implementing the Bologna Pathway at the University Presidency, attended the conference on implementing the Bologna Pathway in technical universities “Lessons Learned”. At the beginning of the conference, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research gave a speech in which he praised the role of technical universities in implementing The Bologna process was followed by a speech by the Prime Minister’s Advisor, Dr. Hamed Khalaf, in which he highlighted the project to develop technical and vocational education. After that, Mrs. Barbara, the representative of the European Union in Iraq, gave a speech in which she praised the role of technical universities, in particular Northern Technical University, where she expressed her admiration for what she saw during her recent visit to the Northern Technical University and her meeting with the staff and students of the Department of Building and Construction, in which the path was implemented for the last academic year, as witnessed. The conference presented a presentation on the steps followed by technical universities and the most important outcomes of implementing the Polish path in technical universities, which were presented by the specialized teams representing the technical universities through preparing the curricula for the new academic program and applying quality standards for following up on the implementation of the path and evaluating the results and outputs. Future steps were also discussed. Regarding extending the implementation of the path in Iraqi technical and academic universities and within the disciplines of engineering and science, with the guidance and support of the Ministry of Higher Education.
