Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Institute, the role, the Department of Electronic Technologies at the Institute organized an electronic workshop entitled (Improving the efficiency of solar cells). This workshop is part of the sustainability program implemented by the scientific departments through the Quality and Performance Assurance Division. The axes of the workshop were delivered by Eng. Ghaith Thaer Fadel from the above department, and was attended by several university employees.

The workshop aimed to:

1. Definition of solar energy
2. Introducing the classification of the types of solar energy
3. How to improve the efficiency of solar cell panels.

The workshop indicated:

1. Introducing the concepts of alternative energy in general and in particular solar energy in the science curricula.
2. Building solar power plants for our urgent needs.
3. Providing maintenance, maintenance, and cleaning teams for solar cells.
