Under the auspices of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Samir Taha Yassin, the Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a scientific workshop entitled (Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms) for students of the Department of Electronic Administration.

The workshop aimed to:

Clarifying the concepts of human rights and basic freedoms in international law, the Iraqi constitution and other laws. And an indication of the importance of these rights in strengthening the foundations for building peace and peaceful coexistence and spreading a culture of tolerance.

The workshop reached several recommendations, including:

First: the importance of human rights at the international and national levels and the need to consolidate their concepts in the university community.

Second: Urging the dissemination of the concepts of human rights and basic freedoms among students and society.

Third: Paying attention to the values of tolerance, respect and equality, which help the society to get rid of the differences within it and make it more open and tolerant, and thus contribute to the progress of the members of this society.

Fourth: Recognition of the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom.
