NTU is committed to strengthening the bonds of collaboration between our university and governmental universities, private colleges, and government departments. Therefore, the Northern Technical University actively participated, represented by Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the President of the Northern Technical University, in the conference entitled “Building Bridges and Enhancing Mechanisms of Cooperation between Governmental Universities, Private Colleges, and Non-Governmental Organizations in Nineveh Province to Achieve Social Integration,” organized by the Nineveh Consultations and Research Center, under the sponsorship of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee.
The conference witnessed the participation of governmental universities and their private colleges in Nineveh Province, as well as non-governmental organizations, with the support of Al-Noor University College. The conference commenced with a speech by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, highlighting the importance of involving governmental universities and private colleges in the construction and development of the province, in the presence of the Governor of Nineveh. Furthermore, the President of the University presented a comprehensive overview of the effective initiatives undertaken by the university in supporting the province’s departments and providing assistance, including:
– Desertification combat campaign.
– Tree planting initiative launched by the university in collaboration with the Muthabaron Foundation.
– Establishment of a fish hatchery.
– Organization of capacity-building training courses.
– Conducting numerous workshops to combat sectarianism.
– Hosting awareness workshops with civil society organizations.
The conference resulted in several proposals, among which the most significant was the cooperation in problem-solving through research and academic studies, following the example of reputable European universities, such as conducting studies for postgraduate students. These efforts contribute to the construction and development of the province according to strategic plans. Dr. Al-Attar emphasized that if these proposals do not come into effect, the universities will not achieve their goal of serving society.
