A researcher from Northern Technical University publishes a scientific research in a Q1-ranked international journal.

As part of the academic activities of Northern Technical University, Assistant Professor Ammar Abdul Majeed Gharbi, from the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies at the Technical College of Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, completed a distinguished scientific research in collaboration with researchers from the Technical Institute/Nineveh, namely: Professor Amer Tahseen Sahl and Professor Harith Ghanem Ayoub.
The research addresses the development of a robust algorithm for randomly hiding confidential files within real-color images using a large primary secret key. This is an advanced approach in the field of information security aimed at enhancing data confidentiality and protecting it from hacking attempts.
The research idea is based on distributing the contents of hidden files within image elements in an irregular and random manner, relying on a large primary secret key agreed upon by the authorized parties. This makes it difficult for attackers to discover the hidden locations using image or statistical analysis methods. The results demonstrated the algorithm’s success in hiding and retrieving confidential files without losing any of their components, while preserving the quality of the original images.
The research, titled “A Robust Algorithm for Randomly Hiding Secret Files inside True Color Image Using Large Primary Secret Key,” was published in the Journal of King Saud University – Computer and Information Sciences, which is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) of the Scopus database, with a CiteScore of 11 and an Impact Factor of 4.3.
