A medical scientific course at Kirkuk Technical Institute

A medical scientific course at Kirkuk Technical Institute, Department of Community Health Technologies entitled: “Bullying Among Children in Schools” under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ashti Mahdi Aref, Dean of Kirkuk Technical Institute. The Department of Community Health Technologies organized a scientific course entitled “Bullying Among Children in Schools”.
Present at the course:
1- Dr. Layla Abdul Sattar Sadeq / Head of the Department of Community Health Technologies
2- Mr. Jelank Hameed Mahmoud / Lecturer in the Department of Community Health Technologies
The course covered:
1- Definition of bullying, its types, and causes
2- Factors contributing to the increase in bullying cases in schools
3- Steps that can be taken to reduce bullying cases in schools
Course objectives:
1- Understand the types of bullying and how to deal with it
2- Identify the methods that can be followed to reduce or control the bullying phenomenon in schools among children
Course conclusions:
1- Bullying among children in schools is a serious social problem that affects the health and safety of children and hinders their educational experience. Bullying is defined as behavior involving psychological, physical, or social harm inflicted by their peers at school. Bullying occurs repeatedly and continuously over a long period, leaving negative effects on the victims and society in general.
There are some common forms of bullying among children, including:
– Physical bullying
– Verbal bullying
– Social bullying
– Cyberbullying
2- Measures to take when dealing with rebellious children:
– Encouraging communication
– Providing emotional support
– Providing positive role models
– School intervention
– Promoting awareness of bullying
