The President of the Northern Technical University honors the Head of the Sports Unit.

The President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Aliya Abbas Ali Al-Attar, honored Ms. Aisha Atef Abdulkhaliq, Head of the Sports Unit in the Student Activities Division at the Kirkuk Engineering Technical College, in appreciation of her distinguished efforts and continuous contributions to supporting sports activities within the university.

This honor comes as part of the university presidency’s approach to supporting creativity and empowering young talents. The University President consistently emphasizes the importance of embracing outstanding individuals and highlighting their achievements, as they form the foundation for developing an active and influential university environment.

Brief Biography of the Honoree:

Aisha Atef Abdulkhaliq – Born in 1998, Kirkuk Governorate
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Tikrit University (Ranked second in her class, 2021–2022)

She has a rich athletic record, having been a player for the College of Physical Education and Tikrit University handball teams, as well as a player for the Kirkuk team in Baseball 5. She achieved first place at the national level more than five times with her team. She also ventured into refereeing and successfully completed the novice referees’ course supervised by the sub-federation and the refereeing committee in Kirkuk, beginning her refereeing journey across various age categories.

Ms. Aisha is considered one of the prominent female figures in sports and refereeing. She has represented her governorate in several championships and earned numerous certificates of appreciation in different sports. She emphasizes that her family’s support and the backing of sports federations were essential to her continued progress. Her ambition is to become the first international (female) referee in Iraq and to pursue her higher education to obtain a master’s and PhD.

This honor reflects the Northern Technical University’s commitment, under the leadership of President Prof. Dr. Aliya Abbas Al-Attar, to promoting sports and recognizing creative female talents, who represent a distinguished and honorable model for the women of this country in sports arenas.
