University President Holds a Meeting to Follow Up on the Status of Scientific Research and Global Publishing

The university president held a meeting to follow up on the state of scientific research and global publishing

The President of Northern Technical University held an extensive meeting at the Technical Engineering College / Mosul to review the status of scientific research and global publishing.

Professor Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University, chaired a comprehensive meeting at the Technical Engineering College / Mosul, attended by the Scientific Assistant and the Administrative Assistant, along with postgraduate coordinators from the academic departments. The meeting was dedicated to discussing and evaluating research activity and the level of publication in reputable international scientific journals.

During the meeting, the current state of scientific research at the college was reviewed, and the scientific publication indicators of faculty members and postgraduate students were discussed, with an emphasis on the extent to which published research aligns with the requirements of global rankings and recognized international databases. Key challenges and obstacles facing researchers in the fields of research and scientific publishing were also examined, including publication procedures, journal selection, and quality and methodological standards.

In her remarks, the University President stressed the importance of strengthening a culture of rigorous scientific research and supporting researchers to publish in high-impact international journals, given their central role in advancing the academic and scientific standing of the college and improving the university’s position in local and global rankings. She also emphasized the need to unify efforts among academic departments and activate the role of postgraduate coordinators in monitoring research outputs and guiding students toward accredited and reputable journals.

The University President proposed a set of recommendations aimed at developing research mechanisms, including organizing specialized workshops on scientific publishing, updating research databases, and enhancing joint research collaboration with local and international universities and research centers.

At the conclusion of the meeting, emphasis was placed on continuing to hold such periodic meetings and following up on the implementation of the proposed recommendations, in support of the advancement of scientific research and the achievement of the college’s objectives.
