To enhance the spirit of cooperation between universities and governmental service institutions, the Technical Institute of Kirkuk, in collaboration with the Traffic Directorate of Kirkuk Governorate, organized an awareness seminar on (traffic awareness and its importance in reducing road accidents).

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Dr. Aliyah Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ashti Mahdi Aref, Dean of the Technical Institute of Kirkuk, the Media and Public Relations Department, in cooperation with the Traffic Directorate of Kirkuk Governorate, organized an awareness seminar on (traffic awareness and its importance in reducing road accidents).

The seminar featured presentations from:
– Colonel Muhammad Ismail Ali (Director of the Traffic Directorate of Kirkuk Governorate)
– Colonel of Traffic Law, Amer Nerman Rida (Director of Traffic Media in Kirkuk)

In attendance were the Deputy Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, department heads, and a large number of staff and students from all scientific departments of the institute.

The seminar addressed:
– The role of the Traffic Directorate in promoting driving culture
– The role of traffic officers in their field of work
– Applicable laws regarding vehicle operation
– Instructions for issuing and renewing driving licenses
– Stages of vehicle and motorcycle registration

The seminar highlighted:
– Presentation of videos related to traffic accidents
– Causes of accidents
– What drivers should follow to reduce accidents
– Steps to apply for a driving license and the age categories included
– How to renew an expired driving license
– Steps for vehicle registration through application, examination, and ownership transfer

The seminar aimed to:
Raise community awareness about traffic laws and provide a detailed explanation of the consequences for drivers violating these laws, whether for driving without a license or with an expired license, and to promote a culture of vehicle operation and complete adherence to traffic regulations.
