2025-12-22The University Organizes a Workshop on Medical Examination and Residency Procedures for International Students
The Northern Technical University organized an educational workshop on the procedures for medical examinations and residency for international students as part of the “Study in Iraq” initiative.
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Omar Rafe’ Al-Omar, the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations organized a comprehensive educational workshop on the procedures for medical examinations and residency for international students within the “Study in Iraq” initiative.
The workshop witnessed a distinguished attendance, including a delegation from the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports, and Residency in Nineveh, in addition to specialists from the Nineveh Health Department. The presenters provided a detailed overview of the legal and logistical procedures for the entry of foreign students into Iraq, and the steps to be followed to obtain a student residency card.
The workshop included a detailed explanation of the electronic registration system for medical examinations, a review of the official requirements and necessary documents that students must provide, and guidance on the coordination mechanism between authorized university representatives and relevant government institutions during the review process.
Workshop organizers emphasized that this initiative is part of the Northern Technical University’s efforts to enhance the study environment for international students and ensure the smooth flow of their procedures from arrival to completion of residency requirements, in accordance with applicable regulations. The workshop also aimed to unify perspectives among relevant parties and overcome administrative obstacles, thereby contributing to strengthening Iraq’s position as a promising educational hub that welcomes students from around the world.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion session, during which authorized representatives and relevant staff were able to ask questions and raise inquiries. This reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing transparency, improving services for international students, and continuing to work towards achieving the goals of the “Study in Iraq” initiative with efficiency and effectiveness.
