The University Organizes a Seminar Titled  Safe Psychological Support…for a More Balanced University Life

The university is organizing a seminar entitled Security and Psychological Support

Northern Technical University organized a seminar titled “Safe Psychological Support… for a More Balanced University Life.”

Under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, Dr. Alyaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Women’s Affairs Division organized the seminar in collaboration with the Al-Kawther Student Complex, with Dr. Afrah Ghalib Al-Jarrah delivering the lecture.

The seminar addressed the issue of violence against women, highlighting that it does not only target individuals but also damages their identity and undermines their ability to live with dignity and safety. Confronting this issue starts with empowerment and protection, as well as providing safe environments that restore women’s rights, voices, and strengths. It also discussed the anxiety associated with living in dormitories and the pressures resulting from it, including organizing thoughts and managing time.

Objectives of the Seminar:

– To help students understand the difference between fear and anxiety.
– To enhance awareness of time management and organization of the academic day.
– To express feelings safely using colored paper.
– To promote communication skills and emotional release through the empty/hot chair technique.
– To strengthen the sense of control and mutual support.

It is noteworthy that the Women’s Affairs Division within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research emphasized the need to organize activities as part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign.
