The President of the Northern Technical University participates in the sixth meeting of the Advisory Board. Minister of Education: Digital transformation ensures quality performance and is a pillar for the international competitiveness of Iraqi universities. 

The President of the Northern Technical University participates in the sixth meeting of the Advisory Board. Minister of Education: Digital transformation ensures quality performance and is a pillar for the international competitiveness of Iraqi universities.

 

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, affirmed that digital transformation and automation in the higher education environment guarantee the quality of institutional performance and serve as a central pillar to enhance the international competitiveness of Iraqi universities, enabling them to fulfill their mission efficiently and sustainably.

In his speech during the opening of the sixth meeting of the Advisory Board, attended by senior staff and university presidents, the Minister explained that the digital path adopted by the Ministry has become a strategic foundation for developing higher education and contributing to achieving sustainable development goals in line with the requirements of the knowledge economy. He praised the role of Iraqi universities in establishing academic awareness and maintaining their ability to influence, produce scientific work, and compete globally.

The Minister called for support for scientific research in the field of digital transformation in light of the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aligns with global academic trends and advances the provision of advanced digital services based on the integration of technology and knowledge.

During the meeting, the members of the Advisory Board discussed the items on the agenda and voted on the following:

– Supporting the necessary contexts for the examination committees for the ministerial assessment tests.
– Approving the handling of several cases concerning certificate evaluations based on the legal powers granted to the Advisory Board.
– Approving an organizational mechanism for establishing scientific associations and regulating their membership.
– Forming a ministerial committee specialized in developing English language curricula in universities.
– Approving the handling of cases for students who performed the Hajj pilgrimage concurrently with the first round of final exams, according to the universities’ authorities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, directed the allocation of a financial reward of four million dinars for each scientific paper published in prestigious journals with an impact factor classified within the first quartile (Q1) in the Scopus and Clarivate databases, to support the path of scientific publication and enhance the presence of Iraqi universities in the global academic scene.
