In support of our graduate students and university affiliates, our university’s President, Dr. Aliya Abbas Ali Al-Attar, attended the discussion of the Master’s thesis at the College of Administrative Technology, specializing in Business Management Technologies, titled “The Spiritual Contributions of the Workplace in Reducing Job Alienation: A Survey Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Employees at the Mosul Municipality.
The student, Obaida Mohammed Saeed, aimed to:
Determine the extent of the spiritual contributions of the workplace in reducing job alienation among employees at the Mosul Municipality. Workplace spirituality was considered an independent variable expressed through its dimensions (meaningful work, group sense, alignment between individual and organizational values, and job engagement).
Examine the reduction of job alienation as a dependent variable expressed through its dimensions (tackling futility, minimizing meaninglessness, overcoming loss of criteria, mitigating social isolation, confronting self-estrangement).
In attendance during the defense were Mr. Assistant President for Academic Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Raafat Mahmoud, Mr. Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sameer Taha Yassin, Mr. Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Waleed Ahmed Suleiman, Mr. Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Students, Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Najm Sheet Al-Shalawi, and Mr. Head of the Department of Business Management Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Rafat Assi Hussein, along with several faculty members, staff, and graduate students.
The study resulted in several conclusions, including:
Workplace spirituality significantly contributes to reducing job alienation, as the study found a meaningful relationship between the two variables.
Workplace spirituality has a significant impact on reducing job alienation, both collectively and individually, among employees.
Additionally, the study proposed several recommendations, with the most significant being the importance of organizational leaders paying attention to workplace spirituality. This is crucial for addressing and mitigating job alienation, as it plays a vital role in enhancing the well-being and happiness of employees.
