The Northern Technical University Shines Again, Earning Second Place among Five Winning Public Universities in the “Athar” Award for Sustainable Universities . 

the “Impact” award organized by the Ministry of Environment for the Sustainable University, out of Iraqi government and private universities.

The Northern Technical University Shines Again, Earning Second Place among Five Winning Public Universities in the “Athar” Award for Sustainable Universities .

 

Through the dedicated efforts of Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, the university proudly secured second place among the five winning public universities in the “Athar” Award for the Sustainable University, organized by the Ministry of Environment. The university ranked ahead of several leading institutions, followed by Al-Mustansiriyah University, University of Baghdad, and the University of Technology. The competition aims to promote the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within Iraqi universities.

The award ceremony, which featured the participation of 59 public and private universities, including institutions from the Kurdistan Region, was attended by senior officials, prominent academics, researchers, and experts in environmental and development affairs. The award was received on behalf of the University President by Asst. Prof. Dr. Maha Al-Taif Jassim, Dean of the Al-Dour Technical Institute, in the presence of the Minister of Environment.

This recognition comes as an acknowledgment of the Northern Technical University’s continued efforts in applying environmental, educational, and social sustainability standards within its campus, reaffirming its commitment to advancing sustainable practices in higher education.
