The Northern Technical University participates in the “Three Minute Thesis” (3MT) competition.

Mr. Murad Saeed Sadiq, a faculty member at the Kirkuk Technical Engineering College and a PhD student in Refractory Engineering, was selected by the ministerial committee to represent the Northern Technical University in the qualifying rounds of the “Three Minute Thesis” (3MT) competition. The competition, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and organized by the Research and Development Department, featured 38 contestants in the pre-final stage. From these, five students from scientific disciplines and five from humanities will be chosen, with the final results to be announced on Wednesday, November 22, 2025.

The competition aims to encourage postgraduate students to present the core ideas of their theses in a simple and accessible manner to a general audience within just three minutes, using communication, persuasion, and visual presentation skills. This initiative contributes to promoting scientific culture, enhancing the ability to simplify science, and bridging the gap between academic research and society.

Mr. Murad Saeed Sadiq expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, for her continuous support and encouragement to postgraduate students and researchers. He emphasized that this selection reflects the university’s commitment to fostering creativity and research excellence, embodying its vision to enhance its academic standing both nationally and internationally.
