The Northern Technical University organizes a workshop on (The Role of Independent Bodies in Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption in Iraq / The Integrity Commission as a Model) under the sponsorship of the esteemed President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliyah Abbas Al-Attar, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Ashti Mahdi Aref, Dean of the Technical Institute / Kirkuk.
The Department of Legal Administration Techniques, in collaboration with the Continuous Education Unit, organized a workshop for the staff of the Technical Institute of Kirkuk on (The Role of Independent Bodies in Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption in Iraq / The Integrity Commission as a Model) from May 6 to 8, 2025, in the Continuous Education Hall. The speakers at the workshop were: 1- Assistant Professor Dalaal Sadiq Ahmed 2- Assistant Professor Khawla Arkan Ali 3- Rozan Sabah Nouri.
The workshop addressed:1- The definition of independent authorities in the permanent Iraqi constitution2- The Integrity Commission and the fight against administrative and financial corruption3- Procedural investigation methods of the Integrity Commission to combat corruption4- The law of the Integrity Commission and illicit gainsThe workshop aimed to highlight the importance of:1- Clarifying the constitutional provisions for independent authorities to combat corruption and the concept of their independence3- Shedding light on the law of the Integrity Commission, its mechanisms, and its relationship with illicit gains to limit corruptionThe workshop concluded that:1- The independence of the authorities from the government gives them the opportunity to monitor the government’s actions to limit corruption2- Authority is only limited by authority, and this is the goal of the independence of the authorities to combat corruption3- The Integrity Commission plays an effective role in combating corruption through its legal procedures and with full transparency and integrity in its work.
