The Northern Technical University Earns an Advanced Ranking in the “Athar” Award for Sustainable Universities among 59 Iraqi Institutions .

In a new achievement added to its distinguished record of excellence, the Northern Technical University has earned an advanced ranking in the “Athar” Award for the Sustainable University, surpassing 59 Iraqi universities that participated in the competition. This recognition highlights the university’s outstanding efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting the concepts of environmental and social sustainability both on and off campus.

This accomplishment came after a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the ministerial committee responsible for sustainability standards in higher education institutions. The Northern Technical University stood out for its pioneering projects in clean energy, resource management, digital transformation, and green education, as well as for its initiatives in community service and campus environmental improvement.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, extended her sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for his continuous support of the technical universities’ mission. She also commended the efforts of all university staff for achieving this milestone, which reflects the university’s vision toward a more sustainable and higher-quality future in higher education.
