Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and in the presence of Mr. Assistant to the President of the University for Academic Affairs, Assistant Prof. Dr. Omar Rafi Mahmoud, a dialogue session was held to review and develop the training program to promote critical thinking and media and information education, which will be implemented by UNESCO in our university within the framework of reducing intellectual extremism Violence and hate speech and promoting resilience for peace.
A group of university affiliates who are interested in issues of peace and social cohesion participated in the dialogue session, which was moderated by Mr. Hammam, a representative of UNESCO.
Participants discussed the importance of training programs and their impact on changing the attitudes of media recipients and the need to educate and raise their awareness in order to expand the circle of critical thinking among the public.
It is worth noting that the dialogue session came as a first step to adopting the training program and applying it during the coming months at our university in cooperation with UNESCO in order to strengthen efforts to spread the culture of peace in the university environment and society.
