Today, the Ministerial Committee for New Establishments visited the Engineering Technical College, the Administrative Technical College, and the Technical Institute/Administration in Nineveh, accompanied by Dr. Omar Rafiaa Mahmoud, Vice President of Northern Technical University for Scientific Affairs. This field visit aimed to evaluate the state of technical educational institutions and assess possibilities for establishing new scientific departments and study programs.

The committee was received by several deans and officials responsible for scientific and administrative matters, who provided detailed presentations on infrastructure, teaching staff, scientific needs, as well as the colleges’ and institute’s plans to expand specializations in line with local and national labor market requirements.

During their meeting with the administrative and academic staff, the committee emphasized the importance of aligning new establishments with modern technological developments, stressing the need to enhance the efficiency of technical education and its role in sustainable development.

The committee inspected classrooms, laboratories, and workshops, recording technical and scientific observations in preparation for submitting final recommendations to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This visit is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen technical education and improve its outputs in alignment with national development plans and Iraq’s future vision.
