The meeting discussed the reality of people with disabilities in Mosul in a dialogue session, with Mr. Muthanna Abdul Yahya, Director of the Department of Persons with Disabilities, speaking about the role of the government in caring for people with disabilities, and Ms. Rima Kashmoula, the responsible for the Happy Children’s House, talking about the humanitarian projects managed by the people of the city and some benefactors. The meeting also included a success story presented by the young man Youssef Al-Azzo, who became an inspiration for many visually impaired people. The attendees enjoyed the wonderful theatrical scenes presented by the youth with disabilities, entitled “Knowledge,” as well as the national anthem presented in sign language and graceful and moving movements that mixed tears of hope and sorrow for this good segment of our society. The meeting concluded with a presentation on the role of the university in serving the community, which included the voluntary programs implemented by the Psychological Counseling Department in the State’s Orphan Care Homes. The meeting also included the distribution of certificates of appreciation and gifts to the participants, as well as the opening of a handicrafts exhibition for the Vocational Rehabilitation Institute, in the presence of a large number of department managers and members of the Social Welfare Directorate. The meeting was organized by the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Department in cooperation with the Technological Incubator.
