This initiative was in compliance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/ Office of the Minister/ Department of Media and Public Relations, in support of the national initiative to reduce electricity consumption, minimize emissions, conserve water, and under the directives of the President of the Northern Technical University, Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the follow-up of the Assistant Professor, Dr. Ashti Mahdi Aref (Dean of the Institute).
The Government Media and Communications Department at the Technical Institute of Kirkuk organized an educational and awareness campaign about energy conservation to alleviate the burden on the national electricity system, reduce gas emissions, and conserve drinking water and methods to preserve it. The team distributed informative posters promoting energy conservation, carbon neutrality, encouraging the use of clean energy, and instructions on how to maintain a sustainable healthy environment, and the goals of water conservation. The posters were installed on notice boards in the scientific departments, corridors, and laboratories.
