The session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Rida Aslan, the Dean of Kirkuk Technical Engineering College. It was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Academic and Graduate Studies Affairs, and the heads of the scientific departments.
During the session, several matters were discussed, including the decisions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the directives of the President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliya Abbas Al-Attar, regarding the implementation of the Bologna system.
At the beginning of the session, the Dean highlighted the positive aspects of this system, which provide students with numerous scientific benefits. It was emphasized that studying according to the Bologna system serves as an important link between the student and the job market. Subsequently, the heads of the scientific departments presented detailed presentations about each department, including the number of units the student will take in all stages.
The first presentation was delivered by the head of the Computer Department, providing a detailed explanation of the number of units and courses the student will take in all stages. It is worth mentioning that Northern Technical University is one of the leading private universities in Iraq that is committed to implementing the international standards of the Bologna system.
Afterward, the following matters were discussed:
1.Discussion of scientific research matters and the organization of seminars and scientific courses.
2.Discussion of matters related to graduate studies.
3.Discussion of matters related to final exams for graduate and undergraduate studies.
4.Presentation of departmental reports to the Council, and appropriate decisions were made regarding the agenda items. Promotion of faculty members was also discussed.
At the end of the Council, the heads of the departments were directed to closely monitor the educational process and overcome any difficulties for all faculty members and our dear students in order to enhance the academic level of our university.
