Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari, Dean of the Agricultural Technical College, the Department of Plant Production Techniques organized a scientific symposium entitled:
"The General Concept of Alternative Medicine."

The symposium was delivered by Asst. Prof. Khula Mahmoud Yahya, who discussed the scientific concept of alternative medicine, its various types, and its role in promoting public health. She also emphasized the importance of integration between traditional and alternative medicine in both treatment and disease prevention.

The lecturer highlighted the use of medicinal plants in alternative medicine and the need to raise awareness about the risks of unregulated or improper use of herbal remedies.

The symposium concluded with several key recommendations, including:

• Supporting scientific research in the field of medicinal plants.

• Organizing awareness campaigns on the safe use of alternative medicine products.

• Encouraging collaboration between academic institutions and health authorities to enhance knowledge exchange and promote safe medical practices.

The event witnessed active participation from faculty members and staff of the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul, enriching the discussion with valuable insights that contribute to strengthening academic health awareness.
