Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari, Dean of the Agricultural Technical College, the Legal Affairs Division and the Media and Government Communication Division at the college, in cooperation with the Legal Affairs Department at the University Presidency, organized a training course entitled:
"Towards Sustainable Legislation: A Legal Reading of Food Security Policies in Iraq."

The course addressed major challenges to food security in Iraq, including:

Water scarcity and the sharp decline in water resources.

Environmental degradation, soil erosion, and water pollution.
-
Weak agricultural infrastructure.
-
Climate change and its impact on agricultural production.
-
Lack of protection for local agricultural products.
The course concluded with several key recommendations, including:

The need to update agricultural legislation in line with sustainable development goals.

Enhancing coordination among entities concerned with food security in Iraq.
-
Encouraging investment in smart agriculture and sustainable production technologies.
This course comes as part of the Agricultural Technical College’s efforts to support legal scientific research and develop policies that strengthen national food security and promote sustainable agricultural development.
The event was attended by a number of faculty members and staff from the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul.
