Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of the Northern Technical University,
and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari, Dean of the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul,
the Department of Plant Production Techniques organized a workshop entitled:

"Modern Technologies in Horticulture"

The workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Mustafa Natheer Mustafa, who discussed the most recent technological advancements in the field of horticulture, including smart farming, greenhouse cultivation systems, modern irrigation and fertilization techniques, and the use of organic extracts and biotechnologies to enhance horticultural production.

The workshop also addressed the role of modern technologies in improving productivity and fruit quality, as well as their applicability under local and semi-arid environmental conditions.

The workshop concluded with several important recommendations, the most notable of which were:

• Applying modern horticultural technologies to enhance agricultural resource efficiency.
• Supporting applied research projects in biotechnology and sustainable agriculture.
• Strengthening collaboration between academic departments and agricultural institutions to transfer innovative practices to the field.

A number of faculty members and staff of the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul participated in the workshop and emphasized the importance of adopting modern technologies to keep pace with global agricultural developments.
