The Agricultural Technical College concludes a course entitled: Biofuels in Sustainable Development’

The Agricultural Technical College / Mosul concluded a scientific course entitled: ‘The role of biofuels in sustainable development’, which came within the framework of sustainable development activities, organized by the quality assurance and university performance division and in cooperation with the quality assurance department at the presidency of the northern Technical University.

The course was held under the patronage of the president of the northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the direct guidance of the dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajari, and aimed to highlight the importance of biofuels as one of the renewable energy sources that contribute to achieving sustainable development and reducing poverty.

* The session came up with a number of important recommendations, most notably:
Promote scientific research to produce biofuels locally based on crops and agricultural residues available in Iraq.
Developing educational curricula and techniques to integrate renewable energy topics within the study programs.
Encourage partnerships between universities and the public and private sectors to establish pilot projects in the field of bioenergy.
Raising community awareness of the importance of using clean energy as a strategic option that supports the economy and preserves the environment.
Supporting students and graduates in adopting innovative projects and initiatives in the fields of biofuels and sustainable development.
