Student from the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Achieves a Distinguished Milestone by Earning Two International Professional Certifications in Penetration Testing.

In line with the vision of the President of Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Aliya Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the follow-up of the Dean of the Technical Engineering College for Computer and Artificial Intelligence, Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Ibrahim Dalal Bashi, the College continues to support outstanding students and enhance their academic and professional pathways, particularly within the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies.
In this context, student Ali Atheer Nazhat, a third-year student in the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies, has achieved advanced scientific and training accomplishments by earning a number of professional certifications and completing practical training programs with locally and internationally accredited training providers.
The student obtained the Certified Advanced Penetration Tester (CAPT) certification from Hackviser, an advanced hands-on certification in penetration testing that covers comprehensive stages including information gathering, exploitation, privilege escalation, post-exploitation, and professional vulnerability assessment methodologies.
He also earned the Certified Web Security Expert (CWSE) certification from the same platform, which specializes in web application penetration testing and covers advanced exploitation techniques such as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), SQL Injection, Insecure Direct Object References (IDOR), Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), and other modern web application vulnerabilities.
This achievement reflects the high level of ambition and determination demonstrated by the College’s students, as well as their commitment to developing specialized skills in line with the rapid advancements in the field of cybersecurity. Such accomplishments contribute to preparing qualified technical professionals capable of effectively protecting systems and information.
