Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, and under the guidance of the Dean of the Agricultural Technical College, Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Al-Bajjari, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Department at the University Presidency, organized a scientific seminar entitled:

“Natural Resource Management in Agriculture to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals.”

The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Qahtan Dhiab Salman.

The seminar addressed several key topics focusing on the importance of the sustainable and responsible management of natural resources, particularly water and soil, and their role in enhancing sustainable agricultural production, reducing resource waste, and addressing environmental challenges and climate change, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The seminar concluded with a number of recommendations, including:

• Promoting the adoption of modern irrigation methods and smart technologies to rationalize water consumption.

• Supporting awareness programs on the importance of preserving soil and vegetation cover.

• Encouraging applied research that contributes to improving natural resource management.

• Integrating sustainable development concepts into academic curricula and student activities.

• Strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and relevant sectors to achieve agricultural sustainability.

The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and staff of the Agricultural Technical College – Mosul, reflecting the college’s commitment to supporting scientific activities that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.
