” About Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Department “

   The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance is administratively directly linked to the office of the Honorable President of the Northern Technical University. Since the establishment of the department in 2014 AD, the department’s staff, including administrators and academics, has worked on the quality of the educational and academic product and preparing what is appropriate to ensure the quality of educational outcomes, by working to emulate the standards and systems approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and prestigious international universities.

The department works to obtain institutional accreditation and programmatic accreditation for the university’s colleges and institutes, and academic accreditation for all university programs through the work plan developed by the Quality Assurance Council. This council is linked to the Department of Quality Assurance and Evaluation of the University’s performance administratively, and consists of the Chairman of the Council, Mrs. President of the Northern Technical University, and membership. Messrs. Assistants to the President of the Northern Technical University, Messrs. Deans of the University’s colleges and institutes, and Mr. Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation. The Council works to formulate policies and strategic plans based on international standards and discuss them to ensure the quality of academic and institutional accreditation.

The vision : 

The Quality Assurance Department aspires to be a nucleus for disseminating and applying quality concepts and systems to support the process of education, scientific research and community service. It also seeks to be a center of excellence and innovation in quality practices in the colleges and institutes of the Northern Technical University and its departments, and to build internal quality systems in order to be able to keep pace with development and scientific progress. Continuation of the university education system in a way that qualifies it to achieve Arab academic programmatic and institutional accreditation and for the university to enter international rankings to achieve the university’s strategic goals.

 Mission : 

The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance is keen to achieve the mission of the Northern Technical University by instilling quality concepts in the university’s colleges, institutes and departments and subjecting them to evaluation according to international standards, making the principles of comprehensive quality our philosophy, outstanding performance and community service our goal, and preparing for international academic accreditation by directing the educational process. By following the best methods. correct in its activities and providing educational products that are superior in their dimensions.

 Objectives :-  Quality assurance and University Performance Department is aims to:

1- Achieve a high academi-c level of the university colleges and institutes. In addition to constructing a solid academic ground for a for applying a higher educational standards and improving the high educational environment.

2- Evaluation of the educational system and process through evaluating the university outcome that related to the quality of student education, strength of scientific research, employee performance, academic program and curriculum, educational services and facilities, and university social activities.

3-Providing different kind of support for all colleges, institutes and research centers.

4- Helping, supporting and advising to create a new committees or subcommittees.
5- Publishing specialized courses and workshops in quality assurance on the department’s website and creating indicative and educational posters related to the department’s work.
6- Work to improve quality assurance and evaluate university performance by publishing research and studies related to the department’s field of work.
7- Follow up and audit the annual evaluation file of senior leaders, faculty members, and employees, and the university evaluation file and its formations.
8- Follow up on the university’s classification locally and globally and continue to identify weak points and improve them.

     Based on the directives of the university’s senior leadership on the necessity of applying the quality foundations and standards approved in institutional, programmatic and academic accreditation in all aspects of university work and its importance, With the direct support of the honorable Mrs. President of the Northern Technical University, and in the spirit of perseverance and progress by the department staff, the university presidency staff, faculty members, and employees of all formations.

    The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department and the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation departments in the university’s colleges, institutes, and research and administrative centers seek continuous and diligent work in developing and improving their work and adopting the principles of quality assurance for all university employees, each one of them. According to his specialty and job, by adopting self-evaluation in accordance with local standards and foundations. And international, in addition to evaluating the performance of teachers and employees and evaluating institutional performance according to Iraqi classification standards with the aim of obtaining programmatic and institutional accreditation, and raising the status of the Northern Technical University among local and international higher education institutions.
