President of Northern Technical University Participates in Leadership and Management Skills Development Program for Public University Presidents.

Prof. Dr. Aliaa Abbas Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University, participated in the training program titled “Leadership and Management Skills Development for Presidents of Public Universities.”
The program was organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / High Institute for Leadership Development and Training, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It took place from July 14 to 17, 2025, at the institute’s headquarters in Baghdad.
This high-level program aims to strengthen the leadership and managerial competencies of Iraqi university presidents by enhancing their skills in strategic planning, decision-making, and modern university management, thereby supporting the advancement of higher education and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals in Iraq.
The program covered several key topics, including:
Challenges and obstacles facing scientific research in Iraqi universities and their direct impact on international university rankings.
Performance evaluation and quality assurance, with a focus on assessment tools and academic accreditation of academic programs.
Institutional performance development mechanisms, based on national and international standards, as well as the exchange of best practices in university governance and modern management.
Prof. Dr. Al-Attar’s participation in this program reflects the university’s dedication to keeping pace with modern developments in university administration and enhancing both academic and administrative practices. It also aligns with the strategic directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and contributes to strengthening the university’s position in both the national and international educational and research landscapes.
