As part of its commitment to strengthening practical skills and linking theoretical knowledge with laboratory applications, the Department of Plant Production Technologies at the Technical Agricultural College – Mosul organized a practical lecture for second-year students (morning study) in the course of Plant Physiology.
The lecture included a hands-on practical application on estimating chlorophyll content in plant leaves, where students were introduced to the importance of chlorophyll and its vital role in the photosynthesis process and its direct impact on plant growth and productivity. Students were also trained on the scientifically approved methods for chlorophyll estimation, in addition to learning how to use the relevant laboratory instruments and equipment, as well as how to record, analyze, and interpret the results accurately.
The session witnessed active student participation, as they were given the opportunity to carry out the practical steps themselves, which contributed to enhancing their laboratory skills and strengthening the connection between theoretical concepts and practical implementation.
This practical lecture is part of the department’s academic and laboratory program aimed at preparing qualified graduates with solid scientific and practical competencies, capable of dealing with plant physiological analyses according to modern scientific standards, in support of the development of the agricultural and research sectors.
