In December 15-19, 2024, the Technical Research Center organized a scientific training course titled “Diabetes,” under the patronage of the esteemed President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliya Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and supervised by the respected Director of the Technical Research Center, Professor Dr. Abdulbar Ahmed Nouri.

The course was delivered by:

– Assistant Lecturer Ria Dread Mohammed
– Assistant Lecturer Alic Youssef
All from the Technical Research Center. The course covered the definition of diabetes, its types, complications, contributing factors, the latest developments, and preventive measures.

Additionally, the course provided an introduction to pre-diabetes, key diagnostic tests for the disease, their procedures, primary treatments, healthy diets for patients, and comprehensive care management.

The course recommendations included:

1. Increasing awareness of the causes of diabetes, its types, and the associated risk factors.

2. Learning how to monitor blood sugar levels, manage diet, and properly engage in physical activity.

3. Gaining an understanding of diabetes medications, the different types of diabetes, and how to use medications correctly.

4. Preventing complications by recognizing the signs, symptoms, and complications of diabetes and implementing strategies to prevent them.

5. Enhancing the quality of life by addressing the psychological and social challenges related to diabetes and improving overall life quality.
