Within the internationalizing strategy of Iraqi technical universities and under the guidance of the President of Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Aliaa Abbas Ali Al-Attar, The Northern Technical University, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Fawaz Fadel Ali, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department and member of the Internationalization Committee of the Technical University, participated in a visit to the University of Applied Sciences – Birkenland / Vienna in Austria. This visit aimed to strength the cooperation between Iraqi technical universities and international universities within the TVET 2 project in cooperation with UNESCO to implement the Bologna process in Iraqi technical universities and establish international partnerships with foreign universities as part of this project focusing on professional and technical education and training with support from the European Union. A major breakthrough in this initiative was achieved during an ongoing visit to the University of Applied Sciences (UAS FH Burgenland) which lasted from 7-12 December 2023. Several meetings were hold with key representatives including the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, the Head of the Department of International Relations, and Director of doctoral programs, in addition to university professors. Discussions covered several aspects of internationalization, faculty and student exchange programmes, Erasmus, and joint research initiatives.
