Northern Technical University Participates in Workshop to Evaluate the Performance of Industrial Advisory Councils within the “Tawasol” Project.

Northern Technical University, represented by the respected University President, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, took part in a workshop titled “Evaluating the Performance of Industrial Advisory Councils in Technical Universities”, held as part of the activities of the “Tawasol” project, in cooperation with the World University Service of Canada (WUSC).
The workshop focused on discussing ways to enhance the effectiveness of industrial advisory councils within technical universities, aiming to strengthen partnerships between academic institutions and the private sector, and to better align educational outcomes with labor market needs.
The event was attended by the Advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Director of the Department of Arab and International Organizations at the Ministry, several presidents of technical universities, as well as representatives from private sector companies and institutions. This reflects the ongoing collaboration between educational and industrial sectors to support sustainable development and improve graduates’ employability.
Northern Technical University was also represented by Dr. Abdullah Qutaiba Shanshal, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division, and Dr. Fawaz Fadel Ali, Director of the Continuing Education Center at the University Presidency.
The university’s participation in this workshop underscores its strong commitment to enhancing the role of industrial advisory councils, supporting national efforts to align technical education with labor market demands, and updating academic programs to meet the expectations of both the public and private sectors.
