Northern Technical University participates in the workshop “Invest in the Sun… Invest in the Future” to support clean energy initiatives.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support renewable energy projects and actively serve the community, the Northern Technical University participated in a workshop organized by the Global Center for Social Services in Nineveh Province, which will be held from May 6 to 8, 2025, under the title “Our Path,” with the slogan “Invest in the Sun… Invest in the Future.”

The university’s participation came through a research team formed by the Northern Technical University and the Nineveh Governorate, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Hazem Mohammed, who actively participated in the workshop sessions and provided scientific contributions related to renewable energy and community investment in it.

The workshop witnessed broad attendance from official entities and the private sector and discussed the importance of transitioning to solar energy and the role of academic and governmental institutions in supporting this direction. The director of the Global Center for Social Services, Mr. Qusay Al-Khafaf, praised the leading role of the Northern Technical University in serving the community through scientific research, establishing an innovation center, and making impactful contributions to renewable energy conferences, as well as tree planting and environmental protection projects.

He emphasized that these efforts reflect a high level of institutional awareness and contribute to enhancing environmental sustainability, indicating a promising future for the university in this field.
