Northern Technical University participated in a discussion titled “Learning Outcomes” as part of the activities of the second day of the 2025 Public and Private Education Festival.

In line with Northern Technical University’s vision to be an integral part of society and an active element in its development in all fields, including education and pedagogy, and with the support of the President of Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Aliaa Abbas Al-Attar, Assistant Professor Dr. Fawaz Fadel Ali, Director of the Continuing Education Center at Northern Technical University, participated with a group of academics and educators in a dialogue discussion on learning outcomes. The discussion was held at Al-kashfee Camp in Mosul Forests on the second day of the 2025 Public and Private Education Festival. The discussion discussed the challenges and decisions related to current educational outcomes. The debate was attended by a number of prominent figures in the field of education.
The debate consisted of two teams. The first team included a select group of academic and administrative staff from universities in Nineveh.
The second team included a group of educational professors.
The debate concluded with several key points, most notably:
Universities represent the fundamental pillar of development, including economic, social, and societal development. There is a gap between schools and universities, and the system of indoctrination and the dissemination of information and knowledge without assistance in building skills, as practiced in school curricula. This is a time when universities around the world have transformed from knowledge-based universities to pioneering, fourth-generation universities. Iraqi universities are building the skills of their graduates through the implementation of the Bologna Process, which provides an opportunity to build and hone students’ skills. Integration and joint work between the two parties is essential to changing policies and structures focused on developing skills to meet the requirements of the labor market.
To achieve scientific, educational, and pedagogical integration, it has become necessary to hold a national conference to discuss vital issues related to enhancing the Ministry of Education’s outputs, restructuring early childhood education, and updating curricula to keep pace with global scientific and technological developments.
