Northern Technical University Organizes Driving Course for Women.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, President of Northern Technical University, the Women’s Affairs Division at NTU organized a practical training course on teaching women how to drive, in collaboration with certified instructor Mrs. Ibtisam Abdulrahman Al-Taie.
The course included both theoretical lectures and hands-on training, focusing on promoting road safety awareness, instilling proper driving behavior, and ensuring the safety of both drivers and pedestrians.
The initiative emphasized that driving is a responsibility before it is a skill—it reflects a person’s awareness, discipline, and respect for traffic laws and the lives of others. Teaching women to drive is seen as a meaningful contribution to building a safer society, especially when values of safety and responsibility are instilled from the very first day behind the wheel.
Participants were encouraged to see driving as both an art and a commitment to safety, with the message: “Be a role model on the road. Let us all work together to spread traffic awareness, because safety is a shared responsibility.”
It is worth noting that this course aligns with the directive from the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as part of the implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security – Pillar of Protection and Prevention.
