The Northern Technical University has obtained the first “Radiation Protection Officer”

Northern Technical University Obtains the First “Radiation Protection Officer” Certificate from the Iraqi National Commission for Nuclear and Radiological Regulation.

 

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance radiation safety culture and apply international and Iraqi standards in dealing with radioactive sources, Northern Technical University has obtained the first “Radiation Protection Officer” certificate from the Iraqi National Commission for Nuclear and Radiological Regulation.

The certificate was presented by Mr. Fadel Hawi Mazban, President of the National Commission for Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Regulation, to Assistant Professor Dr. Muntadhar Eidi Sharif, Head of the Surveying Techniques Engineering Department at the Technical Engineering College in Kirkuk.

This certificate, awarded for the first time at the Northern Technical University, represents an important step in enhancing radiation safety procedures within academic institutions. It also reflects the new responsibilities granted to the certificate holder to ensure the application of radiation safety standards and protect individuals and the environment from potential hazards.

Through this initiative, the National Commission for Nuclear and Radiological Regulation reaffirms its commitment to supporting scientific competencies in universities and enhancing the role of educational institutions in implementing the highest standards of radiation safety, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility in this vital field.
