Northern Technical University in Community Service.

Under the direct guidance and supervision of the President of Northern Technical University, Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar, a field visit was conducted to one of the pioneering projects in which the university participates as a consulting partner with the International Solidarity Organization and the Dijlah Protectors Organization, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) as part of efforts to address the challenges of climate change in the regions of Sinjar and Tal Afar.

The visit included Mr. Bahaa Waad Daham, head of the Investment Unit, Professor Mohammed Waad Mohammed from the Agricultural Technical College, and a team from the Department of Construction and Projects. They reviewed the initial steps in implementing a project that is the result of over two and a half years of effort, culminating in the application of conservation agriculture for the first time in Tal Afar. This sustainable system contributes to the preservation of natural resources and enhances the efficiency of agricultural production amid climate change.

The project was prepared by Northern Technical University as a consultant and is being implemented on the ground by the Dry and Conservation Agriculture Center at the University of Mosul, with support and funding from the International Solidarity Organization.

These initiatives align with the university’s vision of deepening its community partnerships and enhancing its role in supporting sustainable development and serving local communities.
