Northern Technical University has achieved top rankings among public and private universities in several departments.

The following departments at the Technical Institute in Kirkuk:
1- Department of Accounting Technologies
2- Department of Materials Management Technologies
3- Department of Legal Administrative Technologies. has achieved top rankings in the Iraqi University Rankings for 2024, competing with similar departments at other universities, as well as private universities and colleges. The Department of Fuel and Energy Technologies at the College of Engineering, Oil and Gas Technologies in Kirkuk also achieved an advanced ranking. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research awarded a Certificate of Excellence to the top-ranked departments. The certificates were received by the Dean of the College of Oil and Gas, Assistant Professor Dr. Obaid Majeed Ali, and Professor Dr. Ashti Mahdi Aref, Dean of the Technical Institute in Kirkuk. The award was presented by Professor Dr. Salah Mahdi Saleh Al-Fatlawi, Head of the Ministry’s Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority. With this step, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research commends these achievements, affirming its support for educational institutions that continue to work hard to raise quality standards and academic accreditation, and achieve advanced positions in local and international rankings.
