Mosul Polytechnic College Organizes Workshop on Bologna Process

The Department of Surveying Engineering Techniques at Mosul Polytechnic College hosted a workshop entitled “The Bologna Process from October 21 to 23, 2025.

This workshop is part of the preparations to equip the academic staff for the adoption of this modern educational system, which aims to transition towards student-centered learning and provide specializations that meet the demands of the labor market.

The workshop included several themes and objectives, most notably:

  • Introducing the Bologna Process and ensuring the effective understanding and application of this modern system.
  • Introducing the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and the mechanisms for calculating student workload and its application in academic courses.
  • Guiding academic staff on designing and adopting academic programs and formulating clear, measurable learning outcomes that align with labor market requirements and educational standards.
  • Explaining the digital mechanisms for entering and distributing grades (formative and summative assessment) and electronically recording student attendance and absences.
  • Discussing potential implementation challenges, such as infrastructure and the modern educational culture, and facilitating an exchange of experiences among participants to ensure its efficient execution.

Knowing that this workshop was under the auspices of Dr. Alia al-Attar, the President of NTU, and the supervision of Dr. Abdul Nassir Kashmola, the Dean of Mosul Polytechnic College.
