Ministry of Higher Education Holds Its First Conference for the Editorial Boards of Iraqi Scientific Journals.

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, the ministry held today, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Baghdad, the first conference for the editorial boards of Iraqi scientific journals. The event was well-attended by university presidents, deans of colleges, and editors of academic journals.

A delegation from our Northern Technical University participated, headed by Professor Dr. Omar Rafaa Mahmood.

This conference comes as part of the ministry’s plan to improve the status of scientific publishing and enhance the presence of Iraqi journals in global databases, in addition to unifying efforts to elevate the quality of research in line with international standards.

In his speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of establishing solid criteria for scientific publishing and providing support to Iraqi journals to reach the level of international journals, along with ensuring the necessary electronic infrastructure for their management. The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Scientific Affairs and Research, Professor Dr. Haidar Abd Dhahd, also highlighted the pivotal role of scientific research in serving the community.
