Scientific course on library management techniques and systems: from basics to innovation.

Under the patronage of the President of Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Central Library Department at the University Presidency organized a specialized scientific course entitled:
“Library Management Techniques and Systems: From Basics to Innovation”, which aims to enhance knowledge of modern technologies in library management, and enable workers in the field to employ the latest systems to enhance the efficiency of library services.
The course lectures were presented by:
Ms. Haneen Muhammad Hamid
Ms. Israa Amer Mayouf
The course covered several main topics, most notably:
1- The role of the Automated Systems Division in automating libraries, providing technical support, and enhancing the integration of technologies to improve the quality of library services and facilitate beneficiaries’ access to knowledge sources.
2- Using the Koha system as one of the most prominent systems specialized in managing library operations, such as indexing, lending, and inventory, which contributes to organizing office work with high efficiency.
3- Employing the Calibre program to organize e-books and convert their different formats, while starting an integrated electronic library that supports scientific research and facilitates access to digital resources. The course witnessed positive interaction from the participants, as practical explanations and direct applications were provided on the mechanisms of these systems, which contributed to enhancing the skills of the attendees and enabling them to use modern tools efficiently to support continuous development in the office work environment.
