Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Kirkuk Technical Institute, the Civil Technologies Department organized an educational course entitled (Introducing the basics of the AutoCAD program)

A number of the institute’s employees participated in the course and gave the lecture in the course:

• Mrs. Naglaa Abdel Hussein Mohamed.

The course dealt with:

1. Introducing the participants to the importance of the AutoCAD program and its multiple uses, with a detailed explanation of the program’s interface
2. How to convert two-dimensional objects to d3 using the thickness. command
3. The importance of elevation to move from one drawing level to another when drawing
4. How to place surfaces with the order surface—-3d face
5. How to pull the objects out with the command Extrude and how to rotate the objects around a rotation axis to get an asymmetrical body with the command revolve
6. How to unite the solid bodies together with the command union, as well as subtracting the solid bodies from each other with the subtract command

The course demonstrated the importance of learning the AutoCAD program because of its multiple capabilities when preparing plans in engineering projects, as well as when training students in the engineering drawing subject in AutoCAD.

The course aims to introduce engineers and technicians to the capabilities of AutoCAD in engineering drawings and creating solid shapes.

The importance of continuing to conduct educational courses for all technicians in the institute using AutoCAD programs because of the speed in completing work in engineering projects and student projects.
