Institutional Accreditation Unit

  • The Institutional Accreditation Unit is one of the core units within the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance. It aims to coordinate and follow up on institutional accreditation requirements at the university level, in accordance with nationally and internationally recognized standards. The unit supports all university departments in fulfilling accreditation requirements by providing technical and advisory assistance, overseeing the preparation of accreditation portfolios, and collecting necessary evidence and documentation.

Duties of the Institutional Accreditation Unit

  1. Coordinating with relevant internal and external entities to ensure the implementation of institutional accreditation standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

  2. Promoting a culture of quality and institutional accreditation through workshops, seminars, and awareness-raising activities.

  3. Reviewing and analyzing institutional performance, and preparing periodic reports on the progress toward meeting accreditation requirements.

  4. Overseeing the preparation of institutional accreditation portfolios, and collecting the necessary evidence and documentation in collaboration with all university units.

  5. Providing technical support and consultation to colleges, centers, and administrative units regarding accreditation standards and requirements.

  6. Monitoring the implementation of corrective and improvement plans based on self-evaluation results and feedback from oversight bodies.

  7. Establishing a comprehensive database that includes performance indicators, documentation, and evidence related to institutional accreditation.

  8. Ensuring integration between institutional and program accreditation processes, and coordinating efforts among related units.

  9. Communicating with national and international accreditation bodies to benefit from best practices in the field.
