The Department of Petrochemical and Chemical Industries Techniques held a workshop entitled “Spectroscopic Analysis and Its Applications.” The workshop was under the auspices of Dr. Alia Alattar, the President of Northern Technical University and the supervised by Asst. Prof. Shahla Abdulwahab, the Dean of Mosul Technical Institute.

Objectives of the workshop:
- To understand the electromagnetic spectrum and spectroscopic analysis methods.
- To become familiar with spectroscopic measurement devices.
- To learn about the applications of spectroscopic analysis in chemistry.
Recommendations:
- Keep up with new developments in spectroscopic techniques and participate in training courses to stay current with the latest advancements in spectroscopic analysis.
- Use appropriate software for data analysis to understand the spectrum and read the results accurately, reducing errors and improving outcomes.
- The suitable technique should be selected based on the sample’s properties and the analysis objective, such as UV-VIS, FTIR, or NMR.
- Samples used in spectroscopic analysis should be prepared carefully to avoid contamination or unwanted reactions.
