The Department of Chemical and Oil Industry Techniques concluded a course entitled (Cement Industry).
The course primarily explained the chemical reactions that take place in the burning furnace and at each specific temperature, beginning with losing humidity and ending with Clinker, the backbone of the cement industry. The course gave a historical glimpse into the developing levels of the cement industry that went through. It aimed to introduce the cement’s numerous types and features, introducing the additives and enhancers (fibres, polymers, etc) for improving concrete features, like durability and resistance against creeping. It gave a full description on the effect of nanomaterials on the concrete properties, including increased durability and decreased water permeability and absorption.
