The President of Northern Technical University meets a delegation from UNESCO in Iraq.

The Central Productive Activities Committee held its regular meeting, chaired by the presedent of the Northern Technical University, Dr. Aliya Abbas Al-Attar.

The Technical Research Centre in collaboration with the Women’s Empowerment Division of the University organized a scientific symposium entitled
(cervical cancer causes and prevention).
Delivered by Dr. Tahani Ali Aziz al-Obaidi/Nineveh University
The symposium aimed at: –
– The introduction of cervical cancer as one of the malignant tumors common in women.
– Symptoms requiring medical consultation
– Taking note of the risk factors and the causes of the tumor.
– Awareness of preventive means and early detection of pre-infection stages and early incidence of cervical cancer.
The symposium came up with several recommendations:
-The intensification of research on the severity and prevalence of infection with HPV.
– Initiate a preventive programme that includes vaccination against viruses and routine screening through routine cervical swabs.
– In addition to the periodic examination starting from the age of 20 – 64 for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment.
At the end of the symposium, the audience’s queries were answered.
